Mount McKinley rising over the Ruth Glacier, 'the gateway' and 'the great gorge', Denali National Park, summer, Alaska. This may be the deepest canyon in North America. The ice has been measured at 3,000 feet and the canyon walls rise another 6,000 feet above that. Much deeper than the Grand Canyon. In summer you can see the crevasses as the ice continues to slide down the valley.
