Before the plug is pulled
This is a lake formed by a glacier blocking a drainage valley. Note the high water line where the vegetation is absent. Usually each fall the water finally cuts a hole in the face of the glacier and drains millions of gallons in a few hours. The unique aspect of flying on a Alaska Photo Safari is that you can get to places like this that would on foot take you weeks to travel.
