When the bears are gone, or it's too far to go shoot some other scenic panorama, I often find the best subjects right next to the sidewalk. I spent two hours at Redoubt Bay Lodge, waiting for clients to return. So out came the macro lens and I found a somewhat willing subject. It's amazing how fast a snail moves when you are trying to keep them in focus of 1/8th of an inch.
