Bad Hair Day
Many folks have seen moose antlers that have been turned into very skillful carvings. Those are usually shed from the moose during the Fall. But they grow again to their huge span each summer. Between growing and falling off, the skin covering, the velvet, dies and irritates the bull so much they rub it off. It's not a good week to try and get close to a bull moose. I spotted this one on the other side of the airport fence and he had no fear as he walked up to within five feet of me while I took this shot.
